Katie Brewer

Katie grew up on Dartmoor, was an only child and spent most of her childhood reading and inventing stories where she played the lead. She read Mathematics at New College, Oxford University and was a management consultant and a consultant for the World Health Organisation before teaching Maths at Eton College. She is a mother of three children and spent their young lives making up stories so they wouldn’t complain in shops, on walks, in doctors’ waiting rooms etc.

She really enjoyed thinking up plots with a twist and started writing down her ideas. As a result, she started writing for teenagers/ YA. She has recently started and hosts a podcast ‘Bandwidth Conversations’ where she interviews artists, performers and rock stars about life. She is a backing vocalist with The Staks Band, mentors a young offender, tutors in an academy and writes in all the spaces in between.
